The Dog Days of Summer

“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring–it was peace.”
― Milan Kunder

Yesterday the Durham Bulls hosted another “Bark in the Park” basebal game. For a donation of $5, in addition to your seat tickets, your dog can come to the park and enjoy the game. The donation went to Second Chance Pet Adoption.

In addition to the regular baseball game activities there were numerous dog vendors selling food, training opportunities, doggie day care, etc. We hooked up our dog Riley with a bag of dog treats, a water bottle top so he can drink out of it, and a waste bag dispenser for his leash. He also got a Durham Bulls scarf so that he could show that he is a big fan.

There are dogs of all shapes and sizes and amazingly enough most of them get along. This is Riley’s second game. He loves it because he gets to meet new doggie friends. He is kind of a politician in that instead of shaking hands he likes to sniff all the dogs butts.

This is Riley and he is ready to cheer on the Bulls.

Here are some pictures of some of his new friends.
